Mum was a very lively lady who kept herself busy rather than letting herself wollow in her own sadness and isolation. Mum never suffered fools and would stand her ground. She used to tell me that was the only way she could cope. When she was in her care home she came through covid herself. We used to communicate with her by us passing letters and cards etc, out of her window in a bag on a piece of wool. She always finished off our conversations by saying "look after them kiddies, don't worry about me you just be happy. So mum, we will be happy and never forget you.
